With more than 30 years of legal experience across South Africa and Australia, and having successfully managed in excess of 15,000 matters spanning diverse areas of law, Lushen Pillay brings extensive expertise, proven capability and a strong record of client trust and satisfaction to Pillay Legal.
Lushen obtained his law degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa in 1990. In 1994, he established Lushen Pillay Attorneys building a successful practice across a broad range of legal disciplines including, but not limited to, criminal law, civil litigation, employment and industrial disputes, estate planning and administration of deceased estates, family law, and commercial law.
Through its ethos, the firm rapidly achieved, success, growth and became the preferred legal service provider to South Africa’s largest legal expense insurance company servicing thousands of their members.
Lushen subsequently qualified as both a conveyancer and a notary public, further broadening the services offered by his practice. He has acted in numerous complex and significant matters, including cases of sufficient legal importance to be reported in the South African law journals.
Lushen is recognised for his exceptional interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail and innovative yet ethical approach to problem-solving. In 2016, Lushen qualified as a legal practitioner in Australia and, in 2026 established Pillay Legal in Adelaide.
